In order to determine values of the standard weight by height and total amount of body fat in Korean male young adults who were fully grown up (20 to 29 years old), 3,079 apparently healthy males subjects were randoinly selected for the measurement. They were further subjected to densitometric measurement to obtain various linear regression correlations to facilitate the calculation of above mentioned values. The following results were obtained.
1. The average body weight of the group of 30 male adult subjected to densitometric method was measured to be 63.82±5.60 kg; average body height 1 71.73±4.97cm, and average body density 1.0694±0.0066 g/ml. Thease figures are in good accordance with previously reported figures for the same age group of Korean adult.
2. In this group, moderately significant correlation were found among body height, r = -0.4.7 (p<0.001) for body weight and r = -0.41 (p<0.001) for body height, r = -0.47 (p<0.001) for body weight and r = -0.36 (p<0.001) for relative body weight. These highly significant correlation helped obtaining linear regression equations for body density from body weight, body height and relative body weight as follows; -

Y (Body density, g/ml) = 1.105-0.00055 x (Body weight, kg)
Y (Body density, g/ml) = 1,099-0.00080 x (Relative body weight, kg)
3. A correlation coefficient of r = +0.527 (p<0.001) between body height and weight was found in the 20-24 old age group (1.504 male adult) and r = +0.423 (p<0.001) in the group of 25-29 old age (1575 male adult) with the aid of the these coefficients linear regression equations for body weight and height were obtained as follows: -
1) 20-24 old age-group
Y (Body weight, kg) = 0.572 x (Body height, cm) - 34.596
2) 25-29 old age-group
Y (Body weight, kg) = 0.475 x (Body height, cm) - 16.075
4. With the aid of above listed various equations, the standard values for body weight by height and total amount of body fat in the 20-29 old age group of Korean adult male were established.
5. The aver age body height of 20-24 old age group of Korean adult male was measured to be 172.81 ± 6.90cm, and aver age body weight 64.27±7.47kg. The aver age body height obtained was 170.66+5.08 cm and aver age body weight 64.96+5.74kg 25-29 old age group.
